Emporio São Paulo was born from Carminha De Castro’s passion for working with people and her passion for great food.

Carminha's mission to have a coffee and food business started from an early age. She grew up on a farm in Brazil where she first discovered the smell and taste of coffee. This stayed with her and become part of her life. “The smell of a fresh coffee being made takes me straight back to my childhood and makes me feel at home wherever I am.”

Through the influence of her Italian grandparents she developed a passion for good food, a taste for fine wines and understood the importance of enjoying the company of family and friends. When she later moved to England she wanted to offer that same sense of home-grown hospitality. This is Emporio São Paulo: a place where you can have a proper coffee, eat a delicious homemade cake, enjoy a lunchtime sandwich or fresh salad with a glass of good wine. Somewhere that offers a great range of speciality products either to taste or take home.

Carminha has always delighted in cosmopolitan cities, especially her home city of Sao Paulo. It can come as no surprise then that with black beans from Brazil, wines from Chile and cheeses from France, Carminha wanted that cosmopolitan sense conveyed in the name of her cafe and delicatessen - Emporio São Paulo.
