Patisserie at Emporio Sao Paulo

Patisserie

We bake croissant, pain au raisin and pain au chocolat throughout the day to make sure everything is fresh. We also have a wide selection of fresh cakes and cup cakes to enjoy with morning coffee or afternoon tea.

Or maybe join us for “pastel de nata”, a delicious custard tart, or “Bolo d’Arroz”, a lemon flavoured rice cake.  And just like a Brazilian “paderia” our Emporio speciality is “Pão de Queijo” (pronounced “pon de keju”)- cheese dough balls made with cassava flour. We bake to order and serve  directly from the oven to your table or to take away. Brazilians  need no excuse to eat Pão de Queijo – over breakfast with coffee or in the afternoon and evening with a glass of wine or beer.

Pão de Queijo makes a great canape, served alone or with a bowl of olives. It is gluten free, so safe for coeliac sufferers and a very welcome treat! Ours is supplied by Minas to an authentic recipe, and available frozen to take away from our delicatessen.
